#TheDiastasisProject is the brainchild of Antony Lo aka The Physio Detective. He has a passion for accurate women’s health information to be accessible to the public at low cost.
Many myths abound about women’s health and specifically the diastasis rectus. Some people prey on the vulnerabilities and insecurities of women, they use fear-based marketing and scare campaigns to either get them to buy their products/services or imprison women into thinking they are weak, and vulnerable and must be limited in movement and choice or else!
#TheDiastasisProject aims to dispel these myths, remove the mysteries, provide clear, accurate, research-based evidence in an easy-to-understand format.

Antony Lo, Founder of #TheDiastasisProject

Australian Physiotherapy Association Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Masters in Manual Therapy (UWA) B.App.Sc (Physio)(USyd)
I am a physiotherapist from Australia that works at the junction of Musculoskeletal, Sports, and Pelvic Health treatment, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement.
I have been practicing since 1997 and founded My PT Education in 2008, an educational platform which I have built after having successfully building 2 private practices in Sydney, Australia.
In the past, I was a part of a very large community of physical therapists and other professionals who shared a set of common beliefs. I also taught many others the same way (I am sorry for doing that!). I was at the top of my game – I had tried to be the best I could be and had spent over $100,000 on my continuing education. But I felt very much like an imposter because people who should be getting better weren’t, and those who shouldn’t be getting better were – that didn’t make any sense!
It wasn’t too long before I realised I could let go of all those complex models I had believed in because they didn’t define who I was. One conversation at the end of 2013 with Greg Lehman about Thoracic Rings became the final catalyst that drove me to accelerate my change. I realised I had let these beliefs define my identity – that’s why whenever someone attacked the models or techniques I used, it felt so personal!
But suddenly, I felt very uncertain about everything I had been doing – was it all a waste of time? My calling has always been to help people – my intentions and my heart have been in the right place. But now, I was feeling lost, not sure who or what to rely on and unsure of what are the best approaches and frameworks moving forward. I was left with 3 options:
a) To stay the same way I was,
b) To try learn other people’s models
c) To go my own way and work it out myself
So, being me, I chose the hardest option – to go my own way. I decided to slowly challenge my beliefs and biases. Everything that I felt was essential to helping someone was carefully questioned. In the process, I ended up challenging the established way of doing things because I discovered their ways were not supported by the research! It took YEARS to make the major changes and I will continue to evolve with the research.
I experienced so many boundaries and rules being challenged through my work, CrossFit, coaching, and teaching – they helped me implement what I was learning.
Finally, I reduced what I did to three simple words, DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
For the past 7+ years, I have dedicated my life to helping health and fitness professionals who have been following the traditional, conventional path. They were suffering from doing what they have been told for so long and deemed as the ‘right’ way’. Helping them ‘Do Something Different’ has allowed me to witness some incredible growth and transformation. Along the journey, I have helped some of the world’s best athletes at the highest levels through to beginners of all ages. I have also travelled across the globe teaching other health and fitness professionals how to use the same processes I use.
The process of transforming to this new way of thinking took me 3 years worth of challenges, tough times and experimentation. By tearing down traditional and outdated methods, I developed a simple framework which any health or fitness professional can follow and change the way they work with clients forever. I will be revealing this framework in this webinar, and together we can transform this industry for the better.

Kerri Grace, Operations Manager

CrossFit L2, Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach, CPPC, OTC, USAW-L1SP
I have been a CrossFit Coach since 2012, eventually making it my full-time career. When I got pregnant in 2015 I was a full-time head coach and found myself feeling lost and alone in my training even though I had trained pregnant women before. After I had my son I found myself in a lot of pain in my abdominals that professionals were telling me nothing was wrong my abs were just weak. I knew something else was wrong and eventually found Brianna Battles, her PPA Course and found a PFPT. I have diastasis recti and an umbilical hernia. It’s become my mission to never let another women feel so lost training throughout pregnancy and postpartum or telling themselves “I wish I would have known” like I have said so many times. I also work with women with any pelvic floor considerations that have, or have not, ever been pregnant.
I work with women both in-person and online with an individualized approach to their training or getting them back to their training of choice. I also offer free 15 minute consultations to get to know each other more and see if we are a good fit to work together.
